What Alt Doula is
A directory where families find doulas and book a free 20-minute chat. Doulas are independent. Any agreement to support a birth is between the family and the doula, and Alt Doula is not part of it.
Not medical advice
Doulas give emotional and practical support. Nothing on Alt Doula is medical advice; always talk to your midwife or doctor about your care.
For families
It's free. Book chats you mean to attend, and cancel in the app if you can't make it. You can hold up to 3 upcoming chats.
For doulas
Listing and bookings are free. Keep your profile true and up to date, only bring reviews that are genuine and that you have permission to share, and keep your badges current. We check badges by hand, but families should still ask about your experience.
Plus
Plus is a paid plan for doulas, sold on our website and billed by Stripe. You can cancel any time; it stays on until the end of the period you paid for. We don't rank Plus doulas higher in search.
Fair use
Don't post anything false, hateful or someone else's private details, and don't try to get around the booking limits or reviews rules. We may remove content or accounts that break these terms.
Our responsibility
We work hard to keep Alt Doula running and accurate, but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under UK consumer law.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
